At Akshara Foundation (hereinafter ‘we’, ‘our’, or ‘us’), we are committed to safeguarding the online and data privacy of the users of our mobile application ‘Building Blocks’ (“App”), a game based free math learning mobile application targeted towards the children from age of 5-10 years.. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes the information collected by us through our App and how the information is used and/or disclosed. We believe that providing this information empowers you to feel secure about the App choices you make.
Our websites and mobile applications provide information to educators, NGOs and other interested community members about our foundation and our digital assets.
COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Some of our web pages may utilise “cookies” and other tracking technologies. A “cookie” is a small text file that may be used, for example, to collect information about your activity on our App. Some cookies and other technologies may serve to recall information previously indicated by you. Our use of cookies and other tracking technologies allows us to improve our App and your web experience. We may also analyse information collected for trends and statistics.
NO THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING
The App is designed to remove the fear of learning and help children/Educationists get their concepts right, in a fun way. It does not have third-party or in-app upgrades / purchases. The App does not enable children to make their personal identifiable information publicly available.
COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION
We do not collect personally identifiable information, such as first and last name, address, or email, geo location, user data, gender, age when you download our App. We only collect persistent identifiers from your device for internal purpose to improve our App design and performance. For example, we collect information on usage time, games played and problems missed. We do this ourselves and through third party vendors. We do not track any more information than is necessary to improve the quality of our App and services. For our reporting purpose, we aggregate information across in a non-personally identifiable way.
With the App, you create ‘Profile/ Avatar Names’ for each player, which allows you to set up 6 profiles/avatars on a single device. The App will track each child’s play data separately to provide personalised activities and levels for each profile. Profile names are not real names of your children. Using this mechanism, multiple children can login and play the game in a single device. The Profile/ Avatar Names, will be collected in order to personalise your reports. No other personal information is collected. We do not share, disclose or sell the information we collect, with any third parties, besides sharing progress reports with associated NGOs/parents.

We rely on parents to obtain parental consents if and when they are necessary. Our App does not require you to upload any media files. If these are collected for any reason, they are stored in your device and not passed to our system.
How we protect the online privacy of children
Currently, Building Blocks does not collect any personal information from children except as otherwise outlined in this Privacy Policy.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
We will keep confidential and protect your information collected except where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information collected by us, both during transmission and, once we receive it, for storage and disposal. All information we gather is securely stored within databases controlled by us. The databases are stored on servers secured behind a firewall; access to the servers is password-protected and is strictly limited. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We limit access to your information to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.
We may provide information, to third-party service providers to help us deliver our products, information, and services efficiently and effectively. Service providers are also an important means by which we maintain our website, apps and mailing lists. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that these third-party service providers are obligated to protect your information on our behalf through confidentiality agreements and otherwise. We do not intend to transfer your information without your consent to third parties who are not bound to act on our behalf unless such transfer is legally required. Similarly, it is against our policy to sell your information collected online without consent.
