Samagra Shikshana Karnataka (SSK), having studied GKA 1.0, recognises the positive impact of enjoyable math learning experiences on children. Through activities involving Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), SSK has recognised the necessity for similar resources for higher grade levels.

For students in grades 6-8, it is crucial to approach maths as a life lesson, achieved through hands-on experiences using TLMs that illuminate the procedures of mathematical concepts.

The programme aims to provide these TLMs to schools and offer training and support to teachers in government primary schools. These materials are specifically designed to aid in learning the competencies outlined in the National Curriculum Framework(NCF-2005). GKA 2.0 has been meticulously developed with extensive research and input from subject experts and practitioners in the field. It complements governmental initiatives aimed at improving the quality of maths learning outcomes.

GKA 2.0 TRAINING MANUALS

This training manual provides guidelines for any resource persons (maths RPs) on how to conduct GKA 2.0 trainings. It lists the uses of teaching aids (TLMs) in the maths kit provided as part of the GKA 2.0 programme as well as the philosophy of activity-based teaching and learning.

The guide is a reference for Resource Persons (RPs) to conduct a 1-day refresher training or 4-day GKA 2.0 training sessions. It explains how to present the GKA philosophy that GKA 2.0 also embodies, classroom management, dos and don’ts for the trainees/teachers with activities described in detail. It addresses a few frequently asked queries.
The guide is available in two Indian languages– Kannada and English.

More than 110 teachers and RPs have been trained on GKA 2.0 thus far. The feedback and comments from the RPs and teachers are incorporated into this version of the GKA 2.0 training manual

GKA 2.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

These two resources give a detailed list of the TLMs present in the GKA 2.0 Maths Kit along with visual aids and manufacturing specifications, for easy reference and replication where needed.
